Q-How much advance time do we need to book our move?
If you are moving locally, we can sometimes do same day moves but many movers like a weeks notice. For long distance moves, two weeks notice minimum for best routing.
Q-How much advance does Allstar need for on site estimate?
Usually same day or next day.
Q-What are my responsibilities?
There is a great pamphlet dedicated to your rights and responsibilities for movers.
Q-What can or can't I take with me?
Generally speaking, you can take anything but flammables, liquids, perishables. Shipping certain high value items may require you to buy additional coverage from carrier
Obvious no-goes are: drugs, weapons, ammo and anything illegal.
Q-Do you transport cars?
We can transport cars but using covered household goods truck space is expensive. If your car is not of exceptional value then an open trailer car carrier is your best bet.
Q-Should I pack myself?
If you are on a budget then packing yourself is the way to go. Just remember the carrier can not insure your packing and those goods will not be covered by extra insurance.
Q-How much will it cost if Allstar packs my boxes.
As a GENERAL rule of thumb, using professional packers on a LOCAL move will increase the move cost by about 50%.
Q- Can I leave my clothes in the dresser drawers?
Yes, clothing only but not breakables, books, papers, or valuables. The dressers often have to be tipped on end to move so anything you don't want "Scrambled", remove.
Q- How do I know if my mover is licensed and insured?
Check your mover out in Washington at WUTC Household Goods Mover or BBB, checkbook, judys book, angies list, etc...
